The Water is Life Movement, also known as MAV, is a non-profit Civil Society Organization (OSC) (OSFL), which was founded on May 21, 1997 and operates in Brazil. MAV was born out of popular indignation at the health problems that plagued the time; where a group of people gathered after the death of a young woman who tried to stay at the General Hospital Clériston Andrade (HGCA), and for not having succeeded, she died. The group has been mobilizing from there to the present day; In 2001, with the threat of the privatization of EMBASA (water company), MAV mobilized the city of Feira de Santana, capturing signatures to prevent privatization from reaching the city and succeeded. Throughout the movement's history, 9 seminars, 2 conferences, 5 walks, 2 water pilgrimages and many other mobilization and awareness events were held; always focused on environmental education, which is one of the basic projects of the year in recent years.

PROJECT: LIVING WATER - RE-USE OF VEGETABLE OIL AND RESIDUAL FATS (2012-CURRENT)
MAV forms partnerships with establishments that use oil and palm oil, where the establishment commits to donate and does not dispose of inappropriately, and MAV commits to collect this waste under the establishment's terms. For communities, there are two ways: Environmental Agents and Fixed Collection Points (Ecopoints). Environmental Agents are people who have knowledge about the neighborhood in which they operate, and thus mobilize the community that lives nearby to donate and store the oil in their home and when they capture a reasonable amount, they inform the MAV, so that it is done. the gathering. Ecopontos are MAV partner establishments, which provide part of the space that resides, so that the community can deposit the used oil bottle in the determined area.
PROJECT: LIVING TREE (2018-CURRENT)
MAV (Movimento Água é Vida) will collect at its headquarters and in the places where it is visiting all types of paper that do not serve for the use of the owner; 2. This paper will be stored at the MAV headquarters; 3. After storing in quantity of all collected paper, the MAV will give the correct destination for these papers, decreasing the amount of the same in the environment. 4. In addition to the correct disposal, the MAV will be planting seedlings, so that a new generation of trees will appear; 5. Select students and residents so that they are responsible for the care of seedlings.
PROJECT: PEDAGOGICAL (2018-CURRENT)
The plan aims to operate through three types of activities: 1. A continuous one, developed in conjunction with the curriculum of the schools participating in the project; 2. One of more punctual actions such as competitions, lectures, workshops, research. 3. The third will be aimed at higher education and will be aimed at the professionalization of MAV members and lectures for higher education with specialized people.
PROJECT: COMMUNICATION (2018-CURRENT)
MAV’s Social Communication and Marketing team aim to make the entity better known, becoming a means of raising funds and making environmental education more accessible to all those who seek to learn about. What ends up strengthening MAV's mission, which is to take care of water, health and environment. Social Communication and Marketing operate at 3 (three) levels in the Water is Life Movement: 1. Social Mobilization; 2.Digital Mobilization; 3. Digital Education.
